Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings
Newly recovered from a recent cancer scare soul singer Sharon Jones and her band The Dap Kings are set to return with their brand new album Give the People What They Want on Jan 14. Supporting the forthcoming record Jones has announced her band’s first full U.S. tour in two years, kicking off with a hometown show at New York’s Beacon Theatre.
Ahead of the record and the approaching tour, fans will get to see Jones and The Dap Kings in action later this month on national television when the group performs on a float as part of the 87th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “Getting to take part in this parade is so thrilling; I’ve been watching it on television since I was a young girl,” says Jones in a statement. “I have traveled a hard road this year and being thankful is something I relate to deeply.”
