Sweden’s Shout Out Louds have released a new single, “Up the Hill,” via Merge and shared a video for it. Hyena produced the song. The band’s bassist, Ted Malmros, directed the video, which is a collage of the band on tour. The band’s last album was 2017’s Ease My Mind. Check out the video below.

The band had this to say about the song in a press release:

“Life in this world is backbreaking at times, and I bet most of us sometimes feel at least a little bit like the allegorical orchestra playing on while the ship is sinking under our feet. And then that song comes on, and we get a moment’s respite. We have spent this year hawking and indulging in that fleeting feeling of peace; it was the theme of Ease My Mind, and we felt it was well earned in these chaotic times.

But folks, now is also the time to step up, speak your mind, and be brave. I don’t think I need to be more specific-the struggles out there are countless, and it’s up to each and every one of us to figure out where we are most needed. We’re all essential to turn the ship around, and that song will still always be there when you need it. Now, we promised you a little something to remember us by until next time. This is it.”
