Earlier today Iceland’s Sigur Rós shared a mysterious new teaser trailer that was streaming in a loop and announced that something was happening at 5 PM EST today. Well that something is a live 24 event the band is dubbing a “Slow TV” broadcast that is airing now via Iceland’s nationwide TV channel RÚV 2 and streaming on YouTube below. Entitled Route One, it features a drive once around Iceland’s coastal ring road, all 1332km of it, with a soundtrack that features the band’s new song “Óveður.”
Sigur Rós’s Jónsi Birgisson had this to say about it in a press release: “In a day and age of instant gratification and everything moving so fast, we wanted to do the exact opposite. Slow TV is counter-active to the world we live in, in that it happens in real time and real slow.”
The press release explains the music component as such: “The soundtrack to the journey is being created moment-by-moment via generative music software. The individual musical elements of unreleased song and current Sigur Rós festival set opener, ‘Óveður,’ are seeded through the evolving music app Bronze to create a unique ephemeral sonic experience.”
Watch the stream below, followed by the band’s tour dates including U.S. ones in which they will be performing as a trio, with two sets each night.

I think people should start watching Live tv channels on android apps such as live nettv or solex tv etc. Those apps are much better than the sh*tty paid service
