Slaney Bay, the South West London indie group, return with their punchy new single “Countdown,” out today (October 2nd). This release marks the first glimpse of their upcoming The Long Way Home EP, arriving in early 2025. After a challenging start to the year due to frontwoman Cait Whitley’s ankle and leg break, the band is back and ready for the autumn months, with new material and a packed live schedule ahead.

The addition of drummer Jonny Burraway-Andrews, sees the band expand to a four-piece and “Countdown,” proves the band haven’t lost their knack for sublime indie melodies that were so apparent on their Why Does Love Mean Loss? EP.

Regarding their new offering, bandleader Cait Whitley explains: “‘Countdown’ is our ode to youthful romantic tension. When you show up to a house party just in case that one person arrives. And your eyes instinctively find them in the crowd, like love-drunk tunnel-vision. In ‘Countdown,’ the question of ‘Will we happen?’ becomes ‘Let’s make us happen right now.’”

“Countdown” is out now and available on all digital platforms.
