The Chilean trio Föllakzoid have enlisted Jason Pierce (aka J. Spaceman of Spiritualized and formerly of Spacemen 3) for a new 12-inch entitled London Sessions. It features new live-to-tape recordings of two songs (“Electric” and “Earth”) found on Föllakzoid’s last album, 2015’s III, this time featuring Pierce. The recordings were made in a London studio in June 2016 while the band were touring Europe. Föllakzoid and Pierce had previously met several years ago backstage at a Wooden Shjips show at London’s Electric Ballroom and became fast friends. The London Sessions 12-inch is due out April 20 via Sacred Bones. Below is the tracklist and cover art, followed by Föllakzoid’s upcoming tour dates.

Föllakzoid guitarist Domingo Garcia-Huidobro had this to say about the collaboration in a press release: “Jason added a very different harmonic atmosphere to the songs. It somehow re-articulated the space and metric that already existed in a way the band never could. These new versions have a different edge.” You can preorder the 12-inch here.

Spiritualized are expected to release a new album, the follow-up to 2012’s Sweet Heart Sweet Light, sometime this year, perhaps in June to mark the 20th anniversary of their 1997 masterpiece, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space.
