Spoon released a new album, Hot Thoughts, back in March via Matador. They also just put out a 10th anniversary reissue of 2007’s Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga on Merge. Now the band have shared a new video for Hot Thoughts track “Do I Have to Talk You Into It.” Brock Linder directed the clip, which features a crazy Photoshop tutorial in which a photo of frontman Britt Daniel is manipulated in various ways, including stripping off his skin all the way to his skeleton. Watch the video below, followed by the band’s tour dates below.
Daniel had this to say about the video in a press release: “Clearly it was time Lou Reed’s ‘No Money Down’ video was remade for the 21st century. We did the research, and it turns out 80 percent of our fan base is composed of graphic designers. This one’s for y’all.” (Watch the “No Money Down” video below too.)
Matador released Spoon’s debut album, 1996’s Telephono (although most of their albums came out via Merge and their last one, 2014’s They Want Your Soul, was released by major label subsidiary Loma Vista). Hot Thoughts was co-produced by Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, MGMT) and Spoon.
