The second season of IFC’s sketch comedy show Portlandia returns on January 6 and guest appearances will include musicians St. Vincent’s Annie Clark, Joanna Newsom, and Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock to name a few. All three of those artists have appeared on one of Under the Radar‘s cover, with Newsom on the current one with Robin Pecknold, so we’re definitely excited.
Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), and Johnny Marr (The Smiths) will also show up this season.
All those indie musicians will be joining a bunch of cool actors and comedians that are also slated to appear in the series this season, including Andy Samberg (SNL), Amber Tamblyn (127 Hours, House), Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Tim Robins (The Shawshank Redemption), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), and Penny Marshall (Laverne and Shirley).
Portlandia stars Fred Armisen (SNL) and Carrie Brownstein (Wild Flag, Sleater-Kinney) and is is directed, co-created, and co-written by Jonathan Krisel (SNL, Tim and Eric Awesome Show).
