St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) has been named the official ambassador for Record Store Day 2017 and has shared a funny video to announce this. Record Store Day happens on April 22 this year. In a video, produced by Funny or Die, Clark’s manager mistakenly tells her she’s been made an actual ambassador to the country of Recordstorda and so she tries to learn their customs in preparation for visiting their embassy. Watch it below.
Metallica were last year’s ambassadors and in previous years it’s been Jack White, Iggy Pop, Chuck D, Dave Grohl, and others. St. Vincent is likely releasing a new album this year. Clark has also made her directorial debut with XX, a new horror anthology film that features four segments, each directed by a different woman. Her segment is entitled The Birthday Party, and she also co-wrote it. The film is due out in theaters and on demand on February 17.
