Stars to Release Fifth Album
The Five Ghosts Due Out June 22
Mar 09, 2010 Stars
Stars’ fifth album, The Five Ghosts, is due out June 22. This will be the first album for the band’s own new label imprint, Soft Revolution Records, which is licensed everywhere in the world (except Canada) through Vagrant Records. The album was recorded in Montréal, was written by all five members of the band, and features a special guest appearance by Broken Social Scene member Andrew Whiteman. The first single off the album is “Fixed,” with Amy Millan on vocals (the track will be available on iTunes soon). “We have never written an album with this much cohesion and unity,” said Millan in a press release. “It is the first time we’ve had the luxury of being together in a huge room writing songs off the floor. The Five Ghosts is quintessential Stars.” To support the album the band will be going on a U.S. tour, dates and ticket information to be announced through the band’s website.
