Australian singer/songwriter Stella Donnelly released her debut full-length album, Beware of the Dogs, back in March via Secretly Canadian (stream it here). Now she has shared an amusing video for the album’s “Die.” Sister-duo Giraffe Studios directed the clip, which starts with a murdered Donnelly slummed against a wall and later features her as a singing corpse six-feet under, an ambulance nurse, and more. Watch it below, followed by Donnelly’s upcoming tour dates.

Giraffe Studios had this to say about the video in a press release: “Stella told us she wrote ‘Die’ as a song for her to run to. There’s a stark contrast between the title of the song and it’s actual mood and musicality. We wanted to make a video that complemented the upbeat spirit while still touching on the idea of death. Couldn’t have done it without our dog Thinly.”

Previously Donnelly shared a video for Beware the Dogs’ first single “Old Man,” which was an honorable mention on our Songs of the Week list, but in retrospect definitely should’ve made the main list. Then she has shared another song from the album, “Lunch,” also via a video for the song, and that song did make our Songs of the Week list. Donnelly also performed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR Music. Then she shared another new song from the album, “Tricks,” via a video for the song co-directed by fellow Australian musician Julia Jacklin with her frequent collaborator Nick Mckk. “Tricks” was our #2 Song of the Week.
