The Hard Quartet is a new supergroup of sorts featuring Stephen Malkus, Emmett Kelly, Matt Sweeney, and Jim White. The band was recently teased on social media and now they have shared their debut single, “Earth Hater,” which arrives with a video directed by EYEDRESS. With the announcement of their single, they have also shared debut show dates. The single is out now on Matador. Watch the music video for “Earth Hater” alongside the single cover art below. The Hard Quartet includes an impressive lineup of Stephen Malkus (Pavement, Silver Jews, The Jicks, Straw Dogs), Emmett Kelly (The Cairo Gang, The Double, Ty Segall, and more), Matt Sweeney (Chavez, Superwold, Red Dead Redemption 2, Guided by Voices, Cat Power, Johnny Cash, and more), and Jim White (Dirty Three, Xylouris white, Cat Power, Bill Callahan, Guy Picciotto, and Venom Stinger).
