This week and next sees the release of a number of notable new albums. On Sept. 24 Mazzy Star will unveil Seasons of Your Day, the dream-pop duo’s first album in 17 years. In an interview with The Guardian guitarist David Roback says, “We were always recording and writing. We just didn’t release any of it publicly.” Scroll down below to stream the album in full.
Next week will also features the release of Trentemøller‘s latest album Lost. In the newest issue of Under the Radar the Copenhagen artist says, “People really like to put music into boxes. I don’t really care about boxes. It’s a little bit boring.” Lost is currently streaming on Pitchfork Advance.
Following her her 2012 solo debut Interstellar, former Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls member Frankie Rose will release Herein Wild next week. Featuring a cover of The Damned’s 1985 song “Street of Dreams,” the album is available to stream on Pitchfork Advance.
This week, following their 2011 album In Love with Oblivion, Brooklyn ensemble Crystal Stilts have released their latest album Nature Noir. The album is available to stream the album on Pitchfork Advance.
This week also sees the release of Islands’ new album Ski Mask, the Montreal pop group’s follow-up to last year’s A Sleep & A Forgetting. The record is currently streaming on Pitchfork Advance.
On Sept. 24 Au Revoir Simone will release Move in Spectrums, the band’s first collection of new work since 2009’s Still Night, Still Light. It’s currently streaming on NPR.
Finally, Kings of Leon will release their newest album Mechinical Bull next week. The record serves as the follow-up to the band’s 2010 LP Come Around Sundown. The album is currently streaming on iTunes.
