Grandaddy are releasing a new album, Last Place, on March 3 via 30th Century Records, a label run by Danger Mouse. It’s their first album in over a decade. Previously the band had shared four songs from the album: the more upbeat “Way We Won’t,” the slower ballad “Clear Your History,” the six-minute long “A Lost Machine,” and “Evermore.” There was also a video for “Way We Won’t,” that starred actor Jason Ritter (Parenthood, Girls, Joan of Arcadia). Now you can stream the whole album via NPR First Listen. Listen below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.

Grandaddy have a special place with Under the Radar, as they were on the cover of our very first print magazine, way back in 2001. The article was in honor of their 2000-released masterpiece The Sophtware Slump. And while they perhaps never quite matched the heights of that album, they still had a very solid catalogue before and after that record. It’s been a long 11 years since the band’s last album, 2006’s Just Like the Fambly Cat.
