Ty Segall is releasing a new album, which is self-titled, this Friday via Drag City. Previously he shared the album’s first single, “Orange Color Queen,” as well as “Break a Guitar.” Now you can stream the whole album via NPR First Listen. Listen below, followed by his upcoming tour dates.
The prolific musician just released his last album, Emotional Mugger, last January via Drag City. To confuse matters, this is actually his second self-titled album, his 2008 debut full-length was also titled Ty Segall. The new album was recorded with a backing band that featured Emmett Kelly, Mikal Cronin, Charles Moothart, and Ben Boye. A press release promises: “It’s got some of the most lobe-blasting neckwork since the Ty Segall Band’s Slaughterhouse (from way back in the long, hot summer of 2012), but it also features a steep flight of fluent acoustic settings.”
