
Sufjan Stevens Announces New Album, “Carrie & Lowell”

Sufjan Stevens has announced the release of Carrie & Lowell, his first album in five years. The follow-up to Stevens’ 2010 LP The Age of Adz, the new record is set to come out March 31 in North America and March 30 in Europe via Asthmatic Kitty.
According to a press release the album’s title is in reference to Stevens’ mother and stepfather, and that the included songs, a return to his “folk roots,” are about “life and death, love and loss, and the artist’s struggle to make sense of the beauty and ugliness of love.” Scroll down below to view the album’s tracklist as well as a teaser trailer.
