The long awaited follow-up to Since I Left You, the acclaimed 2001 debut album by Australia’s The Avalanches, has finally been announced after years of rumors. Wildflower is due out July 8 via Astralwerks/Modular/EMI/XL and features Father John Misty, Toro Y Moi, Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux, Camp Lo, Biz Markie, Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue, and Warren Ellis of the Bad Seeds/Dirty Three. The band has also shared a video for the album’s first single, “Frank Sinatra.” The song features Danny Brown and MF DOOM and the video is below, followed by the album’s tracklist and cover art.

Fleur&Manu directed the “Frank Sinatra” video. It features a rural community who are given a liquid that produces hallucinations, which leads to an epic paintball game. Wildflower is one of the most talked about delayed albums of the last 15 years and at various points it seemed like the album might be finally coming. The band even gave us an in-the-studio quote about it for our “Most Anticipated Albums of 2004” issue. Last week the band released a teaser video for the album. Jens Lekman and Connan Mockasin also both recorded with the band over the years, but their contributions didn’t make the final mix. “Frank Sinatra” will also be released as a 7-inch on June 14.
