The Avalanches Share “Because I’m Me” Video and Announce “Since I Left You” Reissue
Wildflower Out Now; Since I Left You Reissue out January 27, 2017
Oct 26, 2016 The Avalanches
Wildflower, the long awaited follow-up to Since I Left You, the acclaimed 2001 debut album by Australia’s The Avalanches, was finally released in July via Astralwerks/Modular/EMI/XL. Now the band have shared a video for “Because I’m Me.” It features a boy who resembles a young Michael Jackson, singing the song in a subway with a horn section to impress a girl who sells subway tokens. Greg Brunkalla directed the clip, which you can watch below.
The band has also announced a vinyl reissue of Since I Left You. It’s due out January 27, 2017 via Astralwerks. The vinyl version has been out of print for years but will be back in a regular black version available everywhere and a limited edition of 5,000 pressed on colored vinyl available only at independent record stores. And here’s the fun part, you get to vote on which color it’ll be. Vote here and the results will be revealed November 29.
