Catalpa Festival
New York City’s latest musical bonanza has taken shape in the form of the Catalpa Festival, whose inaugural run will take place on Randall’s Island from July 28-29. Already landing a notable line-up with the likes of The Black Keys, TV on the Radio, and Snoop Dogg (who will apparently be performing the entirety of his 1993 debut Doggstyle), other acts include The Big Pink, City and Colour, Umphrey’s McGee, and some fifty other names to be revealed down the road. In addition to the music, the Catalpa Festival will also be hosting a number of extracurriclar activities, such as a silent disco tent, bumper car rides, art installations, and something called the Inflatable Church of Sham Marriages. Passes are available via the festival’s website here.
