The Chemical Brothers Send a Dog to Space in the Video New Song “We’ve Got to Try”

The Chemical Brothers (Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands) are releasing a new album, No Geography, on April 12, via Astralwerks. Now they have shared another song from it, “We’ve Got to Try,” via a video for the track. Ninian Doff directed the video, which features a dog who is trained to be a Formula 1 racecar driver and then eventually an astronaut. Watch it below.
They have also shared a remix of “We’ve Got to Try” titled “WGTT15000BPM F1 NEEEUM Mix” that is three seconds long and touted as “the fastest remix of all time.” It was shared in honor of the start of the Formula 1 racing season.
Here’s how a press release describes the remix: “To celebrate the start of the 2019 F1 season, the British duo broke down, re-engineered and accelerated ‘We’ve Got to Try’ to 15,000 beats per minute (BPM) to reflect the 15,000 revs per minute (RPM) that today’s hyper-complex F1 cars are capable of reaching. Titled ‘WGTT15000BPM F1 NEEEUM Mix’ and clocking in at a mere three seconds, it is the fastest remix of all time and approximates the iconic sound of an F1 car roaring by.
Rowlands had this to say about the remix in the press release: “The engineering challenge of creating the fastest remix intrigued us as F1 fans and music producers. It’s exciting to hear our music in the context of F1. The speed and intensity of F1 is a nice reflection of our music and live shows.”
Last September they shared the album’s “Free Yourself” (and in November they shared a video for the song featuring a dance revolution at a robot factory). Then in January they shared another song from the album, “MAH,” via a video for the track. Then in February they shared another new song, “Got to Keep On,” along with a Michel Gondry-directed video for the song.
The Chemical Brothers’ last album was 2015’s Born in the Echoes, which was their first album in five years, although in 2016 they shared a brand new song, “C-h-e-m-i-c-a-l,” as well as a video for the song. That song is not on the new album.
