The Cure Announce Full Run of U.S. Tour Dates, with The Twilight Sad as Support
Dates to Go Down in 2016 and Include the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden
Nov 10, 2015 The Cure
Goth legends The Cure announced last month that they would be embarking on a 25-date U.S. tour in 2016 and that Scotland’s The Twilight Sad would support all dates. The initial announcement only included three dates (Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City). But now the full tour has been announced on the band’s website and the dates are below.
A statement on the band’s website reads: “‘THE CURE TOUR 2016’ will present Robert Smith (voice/guitar), Simon Gallup (bass), Jason Cooper (drums), Roger O’Donnell (keys), and Reeves Gabrels (guitar) as they explore 37 years of Cure songs, mixing hits, rarities, favourites and as yet unreleased tracks in a brand new stage production that promises to be the ‘must see’ show of the year!”
The Twilight Sad’s newest album, Òran Mór Session, came out last month via FatCat and consists of reworked versions of songs from their last album, Nobody Wants To Be Here and Nobody Wants To Leave, as well as its B-sides and a cover of Arthur Russell’s “I Couldn’t Say It To Your Face.” The Cure’s Robert Smith covered The Twilight Sad’s “There’s a Girl in the Corner” back in May and you can listen to that again below. (And last month we posted Smith’s new remix of Ride’s “Vapour Trail,” which you can check out here.)
