The Decemberists Are Putting Out the Crowd Funded Board Game “Illimat”

The Decemberists are releasing a board game named Illimat. How very Decemberists of them! It’s been crowd funded on Kickstarter and has already more than doubled the $42,812 goal (it’s at $104,571 as we write this), with 30 days to still go. The game was put together in collaboration with their longtime illustrator Carson Ellis (also frontman Colin Meloy’s wife) and game designer Keith Baker. It was inspired by a 2009 photo shoot done by photographer Autumn de Wilde when the game was mocked up by Ellis mocked up as a prop. Also, the band like to play board games before going on stage. Illimat is a game for 2-4 players and can be played in 15 minutes. Below is a video about the game and more info can be found over at the Kickstarter page.
