The Flaming Lips are releasing a new live album, The Soft Bulletin Recorded Live at Red Rocks with The Colorado Symphony Orchestra, on November 29 via Warner Records. Now they have shared one of its tracks, a live version of “The Spark That Bled” recorded with the orchestra. As its title suggests, the album features a live concert of them recording their acclaimed 1999 album in its entirety with The Colorado Symphony Orchestra at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, near Denver, Colorado. Listen to “The Spark That Bled” below. (Note: This track was shared last Friday, but we’re just getting around to posting it now.)
The Flaming Lips released a new album, King’s Mouth: Music and Songs, back in April for Record Store Day (followed by a wider release in July). King’s Mouth features spoken word vocals by Mick Jones of The Clash. One of its songs, “All For the Life of the City,” was officially released online (and was one of our Songs of Week).
