The Hold Steady Announce New Album, “Teeth Dreams”
Out March 25
Jan 08, 2014 The Hold Steady
Coinciding with their tenth anniversary as a band The Hold Steady have announced the forthcoming release of their next album, Teeth Dreams. The follow-up to 2010’s Heaven is Whenever, the sixth studio effort will come out March 25 and will be the debut release of Washington Square, a new imprint launched by Razor & Tie, according to Billboard.
The Hold Steady have announced plans for an “endless” tour called “Nights Go on Forever” in support of the record. Thus far eight dates have been scheduled with more on the horizon.
The band has also been in the midst of crowd-funding a cover EP called The Unified Scene. The idea behind the release is that each band member will choose one song to cover, with the entire five-track collection eventually getting released as a 12’’ vinyl. Proceeds from sales will benefit the K + L Guardian Foundation, which was set up to help the children of recently deceased booker and event manager “Jersey Mike” Van Jura. Though the band has already exceeded its funding goal by 255 percent, the band is still offering plenty of incentives for support.
