The Jesus and Mary Chain
Scottish icons The Jesus and Mary Chain are releasing a new album, Damage and Joy, on March 24 via ADA/Warner Music. Previously they shared the album’s first single and opening track, “Amputation,” which was followed by “Always Sad.” Now the band have announced some new North American tour dates for this May. Check them out below, followed by the videos for “Amputation” and “Always Sad.”
The album is their first in 19 years and of course features founding members and brothers Jim and William Reid. Former Lush bassist Phil King, who has long been touring with The Jesus and Mary Chain, also plays on the record, as does JAMC’s touring drummer Brian Young. Youth produced the album and also plays bass on it.
The Jesus and Mary Chain haven’t released a studio album since 1998’s Munki, but in recent years they were found touring their classic 1985-released debut album Psychocandy, performing it in full in honor of its 30th anniversary.
