Scottish icons The Jesus and Mary Chain have been touring their classic 1985-released debut album Psychocandy, performing it in full in honor of its 30th anniversary. Now they’ve announced two new U.S. Psychocandy shows, September 22 at Union Transfer in Philadelphia and September 24 at Terminal 5 in New York City. They join a previously announced performance at the FYF festival in Los Angeles August 22.

As we reported on last week, on July 31 The Jesus and Mary Chain will be releasing Live at Barrowlands via Demon Records. It’s a document of a hometown show they played at Glasgow’s Barrowlands venue last November and comes in a deluxe edition that features, according to a press release, “a 40-page hardback book including unseen photography, 180g heavyweight vinyl of Psychocandy performance, exclusive 10” of the 7-track prequel set including singles and fan favorites cut by legendary engineer Noel Summerville (My Bloody Valentine / The White Stripes), and CD of the entire gig along with candid interviews with Jim and William Reid and Alan McGee.” A single CD version of Psychocandy Live will also be released separately.
