The Smile (Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and Sons of Kemet’s Tom Skinner) have announced a new album, Cutouts, and shared two new songs from it, “Zero Sum” and “Foreign Spies,” via music videos. Cutouts is the band’s second album of the year and is due out October 4 via XL Recordings. Check out the new singles below, followed by the album’s tracklist and cover artwork.
Cutouts is the band’s third album and the quick follow-up to Walls of Eyes, which came out in January. In fact, Cutouts was recorded during the same period as Wall of Eyes. It was recorded in Oxford and at Abbey Road Studios in London. The album features string arrangements by the London Contemporary Orchestra. Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke painted the album’s cover artwork while making the album.
The album includes “Don’t Get Me Started,” a new song the band shared earlier this month that was one of our Songs of the Week.
