Nominees for the 2016 induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been announced. They include The Smiths, Janet Jackson, N.W.A., Nine Inch Nails, Chic, Chicago, Chaka Khan, Yes, Los Lobos, Steve Miller, Deep Purple, The Cars, and others. The full list is below.

With the success of the movie Straight Outta Compton, N.W.A. seem like they will have a good chance of getting inducted this year. They have been nominated several years in the past, as have Deep Purple, The Spinners, and Chic. Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, and Yes have each been nominated once before. To be eligible an artist needs to have released their first album or single at least 25 years ago. You can cast a vote over at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s website to help sway who gets inducted and the inductees will be announced in December.
