The Strokes Already Planning Follow-up to “Angles”

As if The Strokes weren’t saturating the music news cycle enough with their recently released album Angles, in a radio interview with XFM bassist Nikolai Fraiture said that the band is already planning on starting work on their fifth album as soon as next month. “We just were talking yesterday about when we would get back together and start working on writing for the next album,” said Fraiture to radio host Steve Harris, “which would be some point soon, I think around April — mid-April.” Backing up statements by frontman Julian Casablancas that he wanted to work on new material “as soon as possible,” it’s safe to say that the band isn’t planning on another long term absence.
