The Walkmen
After announcing an indefinite hiatus last month and performing their supposed last show, The Walkmen back-peddled a bit yesterday when they announced that they would be performing the Rock On Foundation‘s first Alt-Star Party during New Orleans’ NBA All-Star Weekend. Hosted by the San Antonio Spurs’ Matt Bonner, the gig will take place on Feb. 15 at One Eyed Jacks and feature a DJ set from Vampire Weekend’s Chris Tomson, a performance by Lost Bayou Ramblers, and “other surprises.”
“We thought it might take a lifetime to get us back together—til the Alt-Star Party gave us the nod,” said The Walkmen’s frontman Hamilton Leithauser in a statement. “How could we stay on the bench? We’re coming 110%. Full-court press. Man to man. Rock n Roll, Pick n Roll.”
