The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser Announces Debut Solo Album, “Black Hours”

Following initial reports of its existence last year, The Walkmen‘s Hamilton Leithauser has officially announced the release of his debut solo album, Black Hours. Available in standard and deluxe editions, the new record will arrive May 6 in North America and May 5 everywhere else via Ribbon Music. The record features guest contributions from Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij, Dirty Projectors’ Amber Coffman, The Shins’ Richard Swift, Morgen Henderson from Fleet Foxes, and The Walkmen’s own Paul Maroon.
Coinciding with the album’s announcement Leithauser has premiered a music video for the single “Alexandra,” which was co-written by Leithauser and Batmanglij, who also produced and mixed the track and appears in the video. “Alexandra” will be available as a 7’’ on Record Store Day, April 19, with an exclusive b-side titled “In the Shallows.”

I am hopeful that this one will be a hit for him. The previous albums were a bit off and didn’t really get the appreciation or notice it should have got. This man has got talent and somehow it has to be noticed.
