Thom Yorke of Radiohead has announced some new North American tour dates for this fall. The electronic shows will be with his Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes band (Yorke, Nigel Godrich, and Tarik Barri) and go down this September and October. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 21. Check out all the dates below.
A press release describes the shows as such: “The new shows will feature Thom Yorke along with Godrich and visual artist Barri performing songs spanning Yorke’s solo works The Eraser and Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, Atoms For Peace’s Amok, as well as new and unreleased material.”
Last year Yorke scored his first feature film, Suspiria, and the soundtrack, Suspiria (Music for the Luca Guadagnino Film), was released last fall via XL. Suspiria (Music for the Luca Guadagnino Film) included 25 original compositions by Yorke, including instrumental tracks and ones that are more traditionally song-like and feature vocals. Yorke wrote and arranged the score, which was recorded and produced by Yorke and Sam Petts-Davies. The score also featured the London Contemporary Orchestra and Choir, as well as Yorke’s son Noah Yorke on drums on “Has Ended” and “Volk,” and Pasha Mansurov on solo flute on “Suspirium.”
Recently 18 hours of sessions from the landmark 1997 Radiohead album OK Computer were leaked online. Last week the band officially released all 18 hours to Bandcamp for 18 days, available to buy for £18 (around $23), with all proceeds going to Extinction Rebellion, an organization that has been putting together climate change protests in London. In a statement, the band say they were hacked and 18 minidisk files were stolen and held for ransom, with the thieves threatening to release it all. Instead the band has released it. It includes studio sessions, demos, and live material the band recorded.
