Ticket Giveaway: NYC Premiere of POPSTAR, starring The Lonely Island
Music Biz Comedy From the Team Who Brought You “Dick In A Box”
May 20, 2016
The Lonely Island
Universal Pictures’ Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping stars Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone, better known as The Lonely Island. (A.K.A., the trio behind “I’m On A Boat,” “I Just Had Sex,” and so many other hilarious YouTube videos with hundreds of millions of views.) In this behind-the-scenes comedy, Samberg plays Conner4Real, a massively popular singer/rapper who faces a crisis of dopeness when his second album turns out to be a dud. The film is co-produced by Judd Apatow and also features Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows, Maya Rudolph, and a whole bunch of comedians and real-life pop stars. Check out a preview below:
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping opens in theaters on June 3rd.
The movie will host its New York City premiere on Tuesday, May 24th at 8PM. If you’re a New Yorker or have a way of getting there, we’re giving away several tickets for the special screening. For a chance to win a pass for you and a guest, send an e-mail to austin [at] undertheradarmag.com with the subject line “Make Me Look Dope” and tell us your favorite guilty pleasure pop star. (Are you a big Belieber? Be honest with us!) We’ll draw randomly from these entries at 5PM E.S.T. on Sunday, May 22nd, and we’ll notify winners that evening. Please note that the film is rated ‘R’, so all attendees will need to be ages eighteen or older.
