Jul 11, 2024
Musician/comedian Tim Heidecker has announced his new album, Slipping Away, which is due out October 18 on Bloodshot. He has also shared its lead single, “Well’s Running Dry,” with a video. Watch the music video below. Also below, find tour dates and Slipping Away’s cover art and tracklist.
During his first combined comedy and music tour in 2022, Heidecker noticed his fanbases’ common response to his performances: “Especially people my age, maybe a little younger, they would come up to me and say, ‘That is how I feel. And it’s nice to know you feel that way, too.’”
In a press release, Heidecker had this to say on the single: “As soon as I wrote [‘Well’s Running Dry,’ a song on writer’s block] I worried that it’s not cool to talk about. But a second later, I thought—well that’s challenging and exciting. Let’s push past that.”
Heidecker described working with the band on Slipping Away to be a personal breakthrough in his career: “Having been doing quote-unquote ‘entertainment’ for 20 years now in different forms, it was a revitalizing experience to be out of my comfort zone a little bit. It was a learning opportunity.”
