
“Trainspotting 2” Starts Shooting, Cast and Release Date Confirmed via Teaser Video

Trainspotting 2, the long-awaited sequel to the beloved Scottish cult classic from 1996, started shooting today. In honor of the first day of shooting a teaser trailer has been shared. It doesn’t feature any new footage of course, just highlights of the original movie, but it does confirm the cast and release date. Director Danny Boyle and writer John Hodge have both returned, as have the main original cast (Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller, and Ewen Bremner). The release date is January 27, 2017. The teaser refers to the movie as T2, but since another classic sequel pretty much owns that title hopefully the final title is simply Trainspotting 2.
