Highlighting Those Albums That Didn't Quite Make Our Top 100 Albums of 2016 List

Jan 05, 2017 Bookmark and Share

Most music websites put together Top 50 albums of the year lists. We usually have to post at least a Top 100 and even then there are great titles that get left out. In 2014 we published a Top 140 Albums of 2014 list and in 2013 it was 125. But in 2016, as with 2015, we settled down and kept it to a Top 100. Still, we felt like highlighting those titles that didn’t quite make it on our Top 100 Albums of 2016 list so below are 50 honorable mentions.

To arrive at our Top 100, twenty-one of our writers and editors (including myself and my co-publisher/wife Wendy) each submitted their personal Top 45 albums of 2016 lists and then those were all combined and calculated together to form the master list. For an album to make the Top 100 it had to be picked by at least three writers, but most were picked by more than that. Most of the albums below were picked by at least three writers, some by more than three, but just didn’t have enough votes when all was tallied to make the list. The titles are presented in alphabetical order by artist name. And check out our Top 100 Albums of 2016 list here.
