Vivian Girls Announce Winter Tour, Cover The Chantels
Touring Mexico and Select U.S. Cities

Brooklyn noise-pop trio Vivian Girls have been covering The Chantels in the live setting quite a bit this year but now you can hear the brand new studio version streaming at their MySpace. This comparatively clean, highly melodic re-imagining of “He’s Gone” was recorded by King Tuff.
Little trivia here: The Chantels were the second African-American girl group to gain notoriety in the 1950s. Sounds like a perfect fit for the Girls’ distorted view of doo-woop on this year’s Everything Goes Wrong and their self-titled 2008 debut. Also, Cassie Ramone (guitar/vocals), Kickball Katy (bass/drums/vocals), and Ali Koehler (drums/bass/vocals) are hitting the open road once again. Check out the new dates below. Mexico and U.S. will get some love. Yellow Fever, Happy Birthday and Best Coast will support.
