Vivian Girls
Brooklyn’s Vivian Girls, arguably the pioneers of the lo-fi noise-pop movement, return to the scene with Share the Joy, the trio’s third album and follow-up record to 2009’s Everything Goes Wrong. Today, the noise-loving ladies announced that Share the Joy is scheduled to warm audiophiles’ hearts with its fuzzed-out guitars April 12. A track-list (posted below) was also announced, revealing that the record is a compact 10 songs.
A first-listen of single “I Heard You Say,” now available for download at our website here, uncovers a sunnier side to the angst-driven girl-group. Vivian Girls have always displayed elegance in their dissonance, yet “I Heard You Say” refines the thrash and drone for something a bit more harmonic. Perhaps they were once lo-fi revialists, but “I Heard You Say” hints at a change of pace and technique for the Girls.
Share the Joy Track List:
1. The Other Girls
2. I Heard You Say
3. Dance (If You Wanna)
4. Lake House
5. Trying To Pretend
6. Sixteen Ways
7. Take It As It Comes
