Over the course of their tour supporting Reflektor, Arcade Fire have been pulling out a series of location-specific covers for each place they visited. Performing R.E.M. in Atlanta, The Smiths in London, and Chuck Berry in St. Louis, the band naturally delivered a cover of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” when they performed in George, Washington over the weekend. With frontman Win Butler saying “Thank god Nirvana made it to the suburbs,” the band incoportated the cover into the intro and outro of their song “Rococo.” Click below to watch the fan-captured footage of the performance.
