Watch: Arcade Fire Featured on “CBS This Morning”
Have You Heard of This New Band?
Oct 20, 2014
Arcade Fire
Over the weekend longtime television news magazine CBS This Morning featured a profile piece on Arcade Fire, interviewing frontman Win Butler, co-writer and wife Regine Chassagne, and the rest of the band about their ongoing success. While the piece certainly provides a nice look into the band’s past, even revisiting Butler and Chassagne’s first apartment/practice space/studio, correspondent Anthony Mason doesn’t do himself any favors by introducing the band a some brand new rock phenomenon, despite the fact Arcade Fire have been around since 2001. Even Butler jokingly calls him out saying, “I feel like we’re just constantly in a posture of introducing ourselves. I feel like we’ve been introducing ourselves for, like, 15 years: ‘Oooh, we’re from Montreal. We do this, we do that ...’ I wonder at what point we don’t have to keep introducing ourselves? ‘Nice to meet you!’”
