Vampire Weekend’s Chris Baio released his debut solo album, The Names, in 2015 under his last name via Glassnote, and released his sophomore album, Man of the World, back in June, also via Glassnote. Now he has shared a video for the album’s title track, “Man of the World.” In it Baio travels the world via green screen. He self-directed the video with Scott Peters. Watch it below, followed by his upcoming tour dates.
Baio had this to say about the video in a press release: “Using cutting-edge technology, Scott Peters and I were able to make a video that features places I’ve been (Lake Malawi, Rio, London) and others I have not (Patagonia, Niagara Falls). I’m particularly proud of the scene where I moonwalk on stage at Carnegie Hall and I believe the ending features the best Burj Khalifa scene since Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Enjoy!”
Previously he shared its first single, “PHILOSOPHY!,” as well as a fun video for the song, plus the dark and glitchy ‘80s sounding jam “DANGEROUE ANAMAL” and the bouncy, horn-inflected “Out of Tune.”
