Prince passed away at his home on April 21 and the Prince tributes and covers have been fittingly constant ever since. Over the weekend Beck covered Prince’s “Raspberry Beret” during his set at Memphis, TN’s Beale Street Music Festival. Prince is a clear influence on some of Beck’s poppier work, such as his 1999 album Midnight Vultures, and he has cited “Raspberry Beret” as an influence on that album’s hilarious album closer “Debra.” Watch fan video of Beck’s cover below.
