Recently announcing the return of their joint side-project Broken Bells, The Shins’ James Mercer and Danger Mouse have premiered the first part of new short film series starring Kate Mara (Netflix’s House of Cards) and Anton Yelchin (Star Trek). Directed by Jacob Gentry and written by Danger Mouse, the introductory installment is titled, “Part One: Angel and the Fool,” following Yelchin’s character Oliver as he encounters Mara’s retro spacewoman Helen in his dreams. Throughout the film, music from Broken Bells’ upcoming sophomore album After the Disco is used to as a soundtrack.
