Prince passed away at his home last Thursday and the Prince tributes and covers have been fittingly constant ever since. On Sunday Chris Martin of Coldplay performed at the Chords 2 Cure benefit concert in Santa Monica, CA in order to raise money for pediatric cancer research. He was joined by a band called A-Side, which consists of eighth graders from the Crossroads School, and they covered Prince’s classic “Raspberry Beret” (from 1985’s Around the World in a Day) and also did Coldplay’s “Twisted Logic.” Martin explained that the 14 year olds didn’t know the Prince song and he joked that he told them to ask their grandparents. Watch below as Martin shares lead vocals on the cover with a cancer survivor named Jaxon Blumenthal. Also below is their take on “Twisted Logic,” which was being performed live for the first time ever.
