Watch: Crystal Stilts - “Star Crawl”
Colorful Landscapes
Sep 04, 2013 Crystal Stilts
New York’s Crystal Stilts are poised to return with their third studio album Nature Noir on Sept. 17. Ahead of the record’s impending arrival the band has shared a new music video for their single “Star Crawl.” Directed by Daniel Fetherston, the band says of the visual that “We took off one morning to go capture random sweeping scenes. Rivers and valleys, trees and ponds ... in a word, nature. I guess the album has that feel as opposed to the earliest Crystal Stilts material, which could refer to the cities, the subways, thoughts and frustrations that are kept inside oneself. This song is perhaps about doing grandiose things, but knowing it’s not in you. The long sweeping shots of the Hudson Valley, and elsewhere at least somewhat resemble the scale of those claims.”
