Leading up to the arrival of his new album America, electro-pop artist Dan Deacon has premiered a fittingly fun music video for the record’s lead single “True Thrush.” With Deacon co-directing with filmmaker Ben O’Brien the entire clip works like the popular game “telephone.” Deacon and O’Brien filmed a simple 13-second scene. That scene was then passed on to another team of two, who were given one hour to recreate everything in it (props, costumes, actions) entirely from memory, and pass their version along to the next team. Eighteen iterations later, the last looks nothing like the first. Click below to watch. In addition to the video Deacon has also tacked on a number of new tour dates on his already extensive calendar. America is out Aug. 28 in North America and Aug. 27 across the rest of the world.
