Deerhunter
Deerhunter released their fantastic new album, Fading Frontier, last month via 4AD. The Los Angeles public radio station KCRW has posted the video of a session the band has done for Morning Becomes Eclectic show. It includes four songs from Fading Frontier and Halcyon Digest highlight “Desire Lines,” which has an extra long outro. The set ends with an even more extended version of Fading Frontier single “Snakeskin,” which morphs intro an improvisational spoken word part they are calling “Escape From the Nursery.” In the rambling section frontman Bradford Cox discusses art vs. commerce, seems to take potshots at manufactured pop music, and name checks Richard Hell, David Bowie, and Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky.
Following the set there’s an interview with Cox conducted by KCRW’s Travis Holcombe in which they discuss Disclosure, the state of the music industry, Royal Trux, and other things.
Check it all out below, followed by Deerhunter’s upcoming tour dates. Also read our rave 9/10 review of Fading Frontier.
