Eleanor Friedberger of The Fiery Furnaces released her new solo album, New View, last month via Frenchkiss. Now she has shared a video for “Because I Asked You.” She will also be playing the song on Seth Meyers tonight. Friedberger performs the song in black & white footage, which is shown within an old TV. Watch it below via Noisey, who premiered it.

Friedberger had this to say about the video to Noisey: “We shot this video last year at the Good Time Bar in Millvale, PA. We performed a short set there just before singing a round of karaoke; ‘Bad Moon Rising’ and ‘Right Down the Line’ were highlights. The video also features a television from my home bar, where I normally watch a Led Zeppelin DVD on repeat.”

Previously she had shared the album’s first single, “He Didn’t Mention His Mother,” as well as its video, and the video for “Sweetest Girl.” New View is Friedberger’s first album for Frenchkiss. A press release previously said that the album is inspired by some of Friedberger’s musical heroes, including Van Morrison, Neil Young, George Harrison, Slapp Happy, Yoko Ono, and Elyse. Friedberger’s last full-length was 2013’s Personal Record.
