EMA’s The Future’s Void is surely one of this year’s most thought-provoking and simply all around best albums (we gave it an 8.5/10), but one can’t help but think that despite receiving its fair share of acclaim the record’s been just ever so slightly overlooked. We’ll see how it fares come the time for everyone’s best of the year lists, but in the meantime we have the new video for “3Jane.”

The Future’s Void was somewhat inspired by the writings of sci-fi author William Gibson and is partly a comment on our current Internet-backed society. In this creepy, atmospheric, and somewhat futuristic clip, directed by the aptly named Y2K, Erika M. Anderson lounges in a Hollywood Hills home with an android maid lookalike, while a drone helicopter hovers nearby.

Dazed premiered the video and Anderson had this to say to them about the android concept: “Our physical resemblance is uncanny but not exact…. Does she protect me or mock me? Is she my jailer or my servant? What does she desire?” Y2K also tells Dazed that the video is part of a larger feature film they are developing called Uncanny Valley.
