Ethan Hawke
In Born to Be Blue Ethan Hawke plays the iconic jazz trumpeter Chet Baker late in his career, in the late 1960s as he attempts a comeback after years battling his heroine addiction. Robert Budreau wrote and directed the film. The Canadian director also previously made The Deaths of Chet Baker, a 2009-released short film about the mysterious death of the trumpeter. No release date has been set yet for Born to Be Blue, but it premieres at the Toronto Film Festival on September 13 and now Variety has released the first clip from the film. It’s only 30 seconds long, but it shows Hawke performing as Baker in the studio. Watch it below.
