Featuring Work by Photographer Irina Werner
Apr 09, 2012
Feist
For the music video of “Bittersweet Melodies,” the latest single off Feist‘s 2011 album Metals, the Canadian singer/songwriter employed the work the Argentinian photographer Irina Werner, whose “Back to the Future” portrait series juxtaposes childhood portraits against identically posed photos of its subjects as adults. In an interview with Rolling Stone Werner says, “I love old photos, but I love even more to recreate them. When I fall in love with a picture I don’t stop until I have them in front of me dressed like this doing that thing they were doing. I’m always amazed that they do it.” You can click below to view the clip.
In other Feist-related news, the artwork for the artist’s upcoming split 7’’ with Mastodon has found its way online, which you can view below. Feistodon is out April 21 for Record Store Day.
